Good start to the season, or what!?

(Apart from Hodges taking an apple to teacher!)

Start from series 1, episode 1. Worth it.

Not sure about last series and the start of this one. Will stick with it.
What season are we on now?

CSI Vegas (the original) has just started season 9 (or perhaps 10) on channel 5. You can find most of the earlier seasons online, try www.tv-video.net or similar.

Arse! I didn't realise that it was back on. Anyone know whether it is repeated, either on Five or Five US?

The original CSI really is the best one by far. NY is a good second it has to be said, mainly due to the excellent Gary Sinise and fine ensemble cast, but Miami is a caricature of the show - and not a flattering one.

If you enjoy shows with a strong lead character, some bizarreness and a spot of crimefighting then also try "Lie To Me" starring Tim Roth. It's excellent. It's on Sky but season 1 is on DVD.

It's Season 10! If you've followed it through from series 1 I think you'll have all the characters in detail - e.g. why Nicky might be scared of creepy crawly things, why Greg is still pissed at being the junior, and why the return of Suey Sidle seems soooooo incongruous - but she and Nicky laugh over the smell of decomp (just like old times: "Lemons!"), and especially why Catherine is so bad as a Supervisor when she would have whinged like hell at a Super as bad as her. All that stuff lends another dimension, to what is anyway incredible stuff.

I can't remember an opening scene as good as that, technically (rather than from the lame show-openers like Ray's line) - bit like the staggering bomb blast in "Swordfish" for impact, I thought.

CSI series 10 started on channel 5 this week, and started in America about November time I think it was.

It's great, and the new guy has taken over well from the old guy (trying to avoid any spoiling!).

It's a great great show. However, sometimes the fantasy of what the technology can do is a little frustrating, and the fact that they tend to show someone in an interview room a piece of circumstancial evidence, to which the interviewee confesses everything. I'm sure I read an article that said some stupidly high proportion of the CSI "closures" would barely make it to court, let alone a conviction!

CSI Miami is particularyl bad for that (crappy frame of CCTV blown up to give you a serial number of a watch hehe ), and I agree with Don - it's a real charicature - especially Horacio, his glasses and his endless "I know you said you didn't kill her, but I'm going to prove you did".

Can't get enough of it though smile (CSI Vegas)

Completely agree - it was absolutely superb (and reminded me of Swordfish also!).

Incidentally, on the FiveUSA trailer, where that use a speeded up version of that opening, there's a really good song behind it. Anyone know what that is?

Emily Proctor

Two redeeming features.

hang on

Rory Morrison got shot

three redeeming features

and then

Emily Proctor handling guns

Four redeeming features.

Yeah - but it doesn't get as good as the worst possible imaginable bits of NY and Vegas.

I know what you mean! It does look good, especially in HD, but shouldn't really be spoken of in the same breath as the original CSI.

Emily Proctor - is that the blonde with a southern (american) accent? If so, she annoys me intensely and I have absolutely no qunaitfiable reason for it hehe

Anyway - yes, with the (now dead IIRC) drunk father from Texas who was always getting himself in trouble. they all have incredibly disfunctional families in that State!

Saved By The Bell.

I was 10 when that was on TV, and then she goes and gets all grown up and gets her boobs out in strip girls. What more does a 10yr old boy want, eh?! smile
