On-screen credits

I was watching Heroes on BBC3 last night; 12 minutes into the programmes and the credits are still flashing on screen.

Why can’t they just leave the credits at the end or just get it over and done with within the first couple minutes of the show?

I agree! It's a pet hate of mine with all these programes - 24, Heroes, Lost et al, 10 minutes in and the credits are still flashing up! Really gets my goat!

This annoys me, but not as much as those channels who, with a good 5 or ten minutes before the end of a decent film, start to fill the screen with little pop up notices informing you that Coronation Street or whatnot is on in 10 minutes!!!!! Really gets my goat.
