Just finished watching this again. Last time I watched this all the way through was ninty eighty something. Very far back I suspect 81/2?
This was when you just wandered into your local video shop and got anything off the shelf.

Forgot what a great (if not depressing) film it is. My friend at the time was into the MOD scene so dragged me round to watch.

When you are hormonal teenager with problems living with parents, life etc. it was quite a 'real' thing to watch.

'You can take the mail and the franking machine and all that other rubbish I have to go about with and shove 'em right up your arse!'

Come on, hands up. Who's said it at work, even though they have nothing to do with mail or indeed, franking machines?

To this day I cannot use a franking machine without singing "you really got me.....boooo, you really got me......booo" as I put the letters through smile

I know the singer and his brother who played in the band which I think was at the start of the film.

The band was called Cross Section biggrin

They have changed a bit since then hehe Vince is still singing and doing the rounds...the guy still has a superb voice.

Great film but depressing too. Sometimes wish I was born in my parents generation to enjoy it as they did.

Me and a mate watched it on TV recently, now we've both decided to become mods, and have planned a trip to the Ace Cafe in London, but in my BMW, its a bit cold for Lambrettas wink Such a good film!

One thing we were both wondering though, what are the "blueys" they're constantly necking? We can't work out what drug it actually is?

Weird - I watched Quadrophenia this evening, without seeing this thread. Excellent film.

The blue pills are amphetamines I believe, although I stand by to be corrected.
