What channel?

What Battle of Britain evidence has been lost (and presumably refound by this programme)?

Military Channel

the lost evidence was all the German photo reconnaissance that the Germans took and misinterpreted during that time.

Quite fascinating some of it, i never knew that some British airfields were cris crossed with black sand to look like hedgerows from altitude.

I doubt that it had been "lost" - just never looked at in detail by a TV programme.

It is well known that the German intelligence on the importance of British airfields during the Battle of Britain was poor. Many times, training or Coastal Command airfields were bombed rather than the much more important Fighter Command airfields.

The idea of "painting" false patterns across airfields to try and nake them blend into the surrounding countrtyside was also a well known subterfuge - even then.

Unfortunately, the Military History channel is only carried on the Sky platform so those of us with Fereeview or Virgin Media don't get to see it.
