Tourettes on TV

My Wife and I were in stitches until the showed how depressing it was for them. It certainly makes you think. It was interesting how they would set each other off.
Funniest bit. Citizens advice woman said "Imagine you are standing in a beautiful green field..."
Tourettes John "I'm knee deep in cow-pat"

Heh, I loved it when his mate said, "Aww, he'll find someone eventually, to look after him and understand him tick ANOTHER GAY MAN"Funniest bit. Citizens advice woman said "Imagine you are standing in a beautiful green field..."

I found it incredible how I could understand exactly where their ticks come from during normal conversation. It's the things 'normal' people think but (normally) know not to say. "f
k off nosey"
I can remember the first program, made in 1988 about John. My mate and I found it hilarious at the time, and the situation can still be very funny at times.
However, listening to John on the prog last night it is clear that it has seriously blighted his life in a way that is anything but funny. Unable to hold down a serious relationship and clearly virtually abandoned by his family I ended up feeling quite guilty about laughing at the funny bits.
Thankfully society has moved on a bit in dealing with the problem.

I stopped laughing quite quickly after that.
