"The 21st century version of the 1970s cult show, this time starring Julie Graham and Max Beesley, has suffered from falling ratings.

A BBC spokeswoman confirmed: ''The BBC is committed to making a broad range of varied and ambitious drama, but in order to achieve this we do have to move on from some pieces in order to allow new work to come through. After two series, Survivors will not be returning.''

Can't say I'm surprised....

My OH swears by it so I watched a few.

tbh it wasn't that bad, but I struggled to see where the storyline could go after the end of the second series.

Series 1- disaster strikes, dealing with the aftermath.

Series 2- getting on with life in the new world and such...

Where next? Axed- quite right. It'd told it's tale.

Next.......

Nooooo...

Bad news. I was enjoying it.

Did anyone else watch Jericho (US post-apocalyptic series) before that too was axed?

I thought it was awful. Just seemed so cliched and I gave up one episode into series 2.

I enjoyed both of them. Jericho was better though, can't believe they axed it!

Survivors had a few decent moments and even a few good episodes. But they lost the ratings through the many dull and cliched episodes.

disappointing that survivors has been dropped esp as was left on a bit of a cliff hanger.

Re: Jericho, was gutted that it got cut short, they were lucky to get the chance to tie up the story. (though not in the way they had planned if they'd been allowed to continue)
