Just read over on IMDB that Bond 23 has been indefinately suspended because the sale of MGM studios hasnt happened yet.

quite gutted really, as Daniel Craig was shaping into a very good Bond.

It appears Broccoli and Wilson are playing a rather high stakes poker game at the moment...

Not a particularly catchy title for a bond film, but I guess they're running short of viable names after twenty or so.

It would take a year or two to write and produce a new Bond film.

It'll be at least 2 years, IMO, before any new one gets commissioned (should the financials/studio issue resolve itself).

It will be at least 2015 before we see another Bond movie I reckon and that's if we do see another.

I can't see the franchise coming back. Some years ago I was lucky enough to be on-set of a Bond shoot, and speaking to some of the crew they reckon that although they were all self-employerd contractors, Bond alone was their livelihood. For example one bloke just did the blue screens, just for Bond movies, and relied on another flim coming aong every two to three years to keep business going.
Plus the movie-going public will soon forget what they liked about 007, and move on to other emerging franchises like the Marvel stuff which appears to be gathering pace, and all that vampire st we've seen so much of.
The longer we wait, the less likely it seems Bond will be back.
I'm undecided if the end of the franchise is such a bad thing...it's come close to being really naff a couple of times (Octopussy anyone?rolleyes), the unfortunate bit is that EON never got to "close the book" on Bond, and let us see him finally retire, snog M at his leaving bash, give back his watch, wangle an Aston out of Q and run off to spend the rest of his days boning Moneypenny in a cosy lodge in the Swiss Alps.

Well this tells a very different story.... granted it's an independent website, but they seem very sure of themselves.

They do indeed seem very confident, bu I notice there's very little solid proof of a new Bond in the making, just lots of talk of intentions.
To get Bond23 out in 2012 (and it'd be a great tie-in with the Limpicks and HMQ's Diamond Jubilee) shooting would have to already be under way albeit in the very early stages, or at the very least we'd have been told the cast line-up by now.

Given that every successful film franchise is rebooted or remade, every 20 years (Batman, Superman, Predator, Alien, even Wall Street) I'd bet my bottom dollar that a new Bond will be made....at some point....in the future.

Hmmm, that sounds a bit more promising.
