"...oh yes the SAS guys cut heads off aswell. I was out on patrol with them and they cut the heads of 3 men. They wanted to take the skulls back and make lampshades out of them. They put light bulbs in the eye sockets..."

Hmmm. Old school native jungle type dude talking of being on operations with the SAS in the 50s against the Indonesians.

I watched that too and have nothing but absolute admiration and respect for those guys. It's also incredible to see how slightly similar wars went completely opposite ways at almost the same time.

Because a large number of SAS types are short?

The big guys find it tough to get through selection because knees and ankles are under more pressure when carrying big loads, so they get injured.
