Has anyone else noticed these? In particularly the Dixons Group?

I've noticed a number of adverts running this year for Curry's and PC World where they're offering products at a discounted price but in the bottom corner in small print it has the dates of the offer and in most cases they've already passed, sometimes by a week or two.

Just on late Wednesday night for example there was an advert for Curry's offering something at a discounted price "until Wednesday" and in the bottom corner it said "Until 12th May".

Not that I plan on actually buying anything from there but isn't it illegal?

Wedensday was 12th May, so I'd say not.

And the advert was being run at 10pm. Know many Curry's stores open that late? hehe

The other adverts they've shown have been weeks out. The offers ended in March and the ad was being shown in April.

ETA: See, it's not just me, here's someone from another forum who spotted one in April, he doesn't seem too happy;

Now I can add PC World to the list. The same advert was on 5 times on Channel 4 in the last 50 fking minutes! Not only that but the offers they show are OUT OF DATE! One of them was a printer which expired on the 14th of fkING FEBRUARY!! Honestly, you show not only the same advert several times in a row but they are OUT OF fkING DATE AS WELL

Yeah, I know, but it's not strictly wrong, is it?

We watched a movie the other night, and I kicked off about an advert for a leather sofa "with guaranteed delivery by Christmas". To get me down off the ceiling, my missus had to point out we were watching a movie recorded last December. You're not doing that are you? wink

ETA: Just seen your edit. I guess you're right - they're all bds! Kill 'em all!

No definitely not. Keep your eyes open for any Currys / PC World adverts and check the dates of the offers they're promoting, I'm positive they'll be out of date.

ETA: Look, the guy from another forum has even seen another;

I can’t fking believe this but PC World are showing OUT OF DATE adverts AGAIN!! The offers that are shown expired on the 27th and 28th April and it’s now fkING MAY!! Whoever is in charge of advertising should be FIRED!

Well, I did see a few adverts by some liars calling themselves "The Labour Party" who kept going on about how they'd made things better...... Still, no-one was ever going to believe it.

IMO it depends whether you take until to include the 13th or not.

I think until should mean all time up to but not including the date specified.

Unless the ad said 'until close of business 13th May'
