The A - Team - review
Discussion
Saw this and it has nothing on the original Series. They just didn't pull it off.
I'd rather watch the stupid Orange advert in the cinema with the cast of the new a-team rather than the full movie again.
You can't beat the original Hannibal or BA.
Okay'ish story line, its a action movie with alot of comedy.
Slow to start but gets better.
best scene is the one from the trailer , ie when they raid the building containing the plates held by pike and the so called arab
.
funniest parts were when they need a pilot and go to get Murdoch and hes stitching up BA and when they break out Murdoch out of the loony bin, with the movie greater escape.
Atleast they didnt mess around with the theme tune, and you have go to wait till the end of the movie to watch the intro that normally comes on the TV show.
Definatly not the best film of the year though, that accolade has to go to either Iron Man 2 or Four Lions.

Starsky and Hutch isn't too bad.
Oh yes it is!!Dukes of Hazzard almost worked (Barbara looked better in hot PANTS than Jessica, but I wouldn't say no)

I think it is very, very hard for people to make a film like this when there is a classic show and pull it off. Off hand, I can't really think of one which even gets close to being better than the originals, despite having more money and better effects etc.
The new Star Trek 'reboot' is absolutely superb. But agree that most remakes of classics don't work.Saw this on Saturday. It's not a bad film, just a bit too far fetched. Yes I know about suspension of disbelief but this was in Micheal Bay territory and didn't seem to know if it should be a comedy or serious action film. Having said that, if they'd kept the daft disguises and non body count of the original it would have looked a bit stupid yet to be serious would lose the essence so it's between a rock and a hard place really. Neeson was surprsingly wooden along with Jackson, although Cooper (Face) and Copely (Murdoch) were excellent. Good popcorn flick but lacks the wow factor. 6/10 for me
I liked it, yes you have to put realism on hold, but just keep telling yourself 'Hollywoooooood' in a Peter Griffin voice and it works well!
The scene with BA amidst the falling containers was very hard to believe, but then the tv show had some howling moments, such as a chopper flying into a cliff, falling 200ft and then seeing the pilots getting out rubbing their sore heads.
The characters were good, being enough like the originals without being too much like them, if that makes any sense.
The plot was also good, maybe too complex compared to the old plots, maybe this plot would've been better for A-Team 2.
Best part for me? Learning how BA came to fear flying

Remakes or reboots work a lot I think, if things are done correctly. A-Team seem o fall in that bracket of 70s/80s telly series that have been turned into film pastiches of themselves, in the same mold as; Brady Bunch, Starsky and Hutch, Charlies Angels and Dukes of Hazzrd etc. With the type of programme A-Team was, and the current trend of making things grittier, they should have toughened it up in my opinion, ala Batman or BSG.
