I am so stoked for this film.
People who have seen it said that it's the best thing Nolan has done.

It's going to be good.

Yep, looks awesome.

Going to watch it ASAP.

Of late Leo is a pretty handy actor IMO I like most of the things he does.

He's pretty much on a roll since Titanic/The Beach.

Titanic
The Beach
Gangs of New York
Catch Me If You Can
The Aviator
The Departed
Blood Diamond
Body of Lies
Shutter Island

Pretty solid string of films for a 35 year old!

Yep, not many flops there. Well none really.

Some great ones.

It all looks very good in the trailer but I fear it's one of those, all-the-best-bits-are-in-the-trailer films...

When asked to name an actor who has not been in a bad film, Di Caprio came to my mind.

A quick check on IMDB showed I was not far off the mark.

And yes, looking forward to Inception.

Love all of Nolan's films to date, a particular soft spot for Memento. Cracking film.

Edward Norton (Although he did 'The Incredible Hulk') and Kevin Spacey (Although he did 'Superman returns') are my go to actors to answer that question.

Although they've done more duffs than DiCaprio.

I thought Shutter Island was pretty turd, I liked it visually and it created a nice atmosphere but it was bloody obvious what was going on.

Me and the 14yr old watched Dark Knight last night (second time for me), another Nolan job, goodish but far too long – I went out to walk the dog for an hour and it was still on when I came back. Longwinded and heavily mumbled lumps of dialogue, hoping Inception isn't going to go the same way as I'm liking the idea of the film.

shootargueyikesyikes you gotta be sh**ing me?! we are talking about the same film arent we?!

OT though, inception has all the ingredients to be awesome, i hope it fulfills its promise, unlike predators which was a complete waste of my time.

Leo always looks slightly fat, rattled Giselle though so well played to him.

Maybe our Lovefilm DVD was duff but even the 14-year old (whose hearing is a lot sharper than mine) had to crank the volume right up just to even have a chance of getting the dialogue – speech just seems out of balance with the music and SFX. I did think it was too long though, even allowing for the sound probs. smile

My copy was the same as yours, mumbled dialog, too long, slow and way too much introspection (Am I evil, are you evil, what is evil....for hours). Terrbile film, massively overrated.

Glad it wasn't just me! Some of the dialogue could be seen as an homage to the original DC Comics dialogue which did aim to be 'lyrical' (Gordon going on about Batman being a silent guardian protecting our city etc etc). Others would see it as risible. Most would surely agree there's just too much of it. Even the Joker's bits would have benefited from editing, some scenes should have been cut altogether, the scene where he's holding the knife to the chops while talking about his father seems to happen about three times with different people.

Can we keep this on topic?

I don't want to read about the freaking dark knight all over again.

Quite.

Just checked the cineworld website to see if there's any advance screenings of inception only to find out that they're only showing it in 2 cinemas nationwide on friday.

What the hell?
Likewise, Odeon is showing it in only 4 of their cinemas on the 16th.

What's going on?

Empire awarded this 5 stars.

Which makes me nervous that it will be 'art' rather than a good film....
