And if its the second series, I'll have to look up the first series on t'internet.
It is an interesting show but I think they make some strange calls. For example, in the show I saw, a Ninja engaged in open conflict, hardly the covert assassin. But it is fascinating to see some of the weapons.
Then in another they used a Spetznaz vs a Green Beret (IIRC) in a pistol shooting contest, but the Green Beret was clearly not a great pistol expert - they should have used a Delta Force trooper which I would have thought is more like the Spetznaz equivalent - but I could be wrong.

to be fair the point was well made in the ninja one though that in theory an open fight would never take place as you say - but this was to see what would happen if it did. ninja did surprisingly well i think.
It would be interesting to see if once all the data is in the computer they could just then match up anyone. I think the Spartan would probably have beaten pretty much anyone (green beret and Spetsnaz aside)
I had a bit of an email conversation with Geoff Desmoulin on that subject - he said that those two spetsnaz guys were easily the scariest people he met out of either series, which doesnt surprise me!

I have been watching this for the last few days online, entertaining show.
Although the Pirate Vs Knight episode was funny mainly because of how the two sides were acting on set lol.
But one thing that bothers me a little is when they were comparing the two grenades on the special forces guys, they used to very different tests when it would have made more sense two use similar tests.
But mainly its a fun show and better than most of the usual crap on TV these days.

there were a few things which confused me about last nights. well one big thing really.
GS9 - an assault squad (to all intents and purposees)
SWAT - an urban engagement team.
It struck me as slightly bizarre that on the one hand the SWAT guys were constantly "well for us a perfect day is that the baddy doesn't get hurt, we dont get hurt and no innocents are hurt" - and yet they were the team with the biggest 'killing power' by miles. wtf do they need that sort of stopping power for. (though I know this is just what was selected for deadliest warrior and probably fairly unrepresentative!)
oh, and this series voice-over man has decided to go for as much alliteration as possible. hope he calms down a bit!
