Saw this last night (in 3D, but 2D would have been fine) and really enjoyed it. To be honest, I didn't really love 'Up!' and thought that Pixar was pandering TOO much to a kiddy market - but this Toy Story is excellent. Darker, scarier and more sentimental than previous films.

Enjoy!!

Don't even begin to agree that Up was pandering too much to the kiddie market.

As with virtually every Pixar film, it appeals to all ages fairly equally.

A little tip...

Make sure you stay put when the credits start rolling at the end, there are some absolute gems included alongside them.

You didn't like Up? It's not their best work, but I thought it was a lovely film.

I think my expectatations were sky-high (if you'll forgive the pun)! wink I liked it, just didn't love it. To be honest, I didn't think that much of 'Cars' either. frown I loved Wall-E though! smile

However, my favorite Pixar venture has to the 'The Incredibles'! Inspired on all fronts, IMHO.

Fair enough.

Cars was pretty awful, Wall-E was brilliant and anyone who says different is an idiot!

Wall-E was brilliant, and Cars was good though I do think it got just a tiny bit too slow int he middle of the film, but other than that I thought it was very good.

Yep, I saw a trailer at the cinema a few months ago and then nothing since! I recall 'Cars' was also a delayed release for various reasons.

And the result was.....

REALLY enjoyable. Certainly worthy of being called Toy Story 3 and wasn't just a cynical exercise to cash in on the brand.

I believe there were less adult jokes than the first ones, but the story line was great and didn't feel forced (like Shrek 4 did a couple of weeks ago). Andy going to college was the plot, which was a natural progression and so worked well.

I'd heard rumors of it being a tear jerker; there were a couple of bits I got very close hehe - particularly at the end (I'll not say why so not to spoil).

All in all, a very good film, throughly enjoyable and a great way to finish the story (assuming they have, of course).

I agree, it is rare for a Disney film to start with a death.

I thought it was executed briliiantly. The OH was crying and she's not sentimentla over films at all. I thought they'd really managed to portray the humanity and emotions with the animation - a true first if you ask me.

Excellent film, miles better that Toy Story 2 IMO. Don't waste your time seeing it in 3D though, there weren't enough effects to warrant the extra. Really enjoyed the short at the start called Day & Night, very cleverly executed.

Top nights entertainment thumbup

Glad people liked it, I've paid a fortune to go and see it in IMAX 3D on Saturday for my son's birthday - just hope he sits still long enough!

Have heard that tim allen (voice of buzz lightyear) has a contract in place for 1 more toy story film, weather that means just a short, or a feature length I'm not too sure

Interesting, thanks smile

The film ending certainly hasn't been "closed", that's for sure, but then again very few films do I guess smile
