Its on Film four right now.

I have no idea what is happening, it is the single most weird thing ever.

I happened to switch on in time to see a guy eating alive octopus, before feinting, waking up with a strange woman, attempting to rape her, being hit over the head by her with a knife, and then being told she enjoyed it really.

Followed up with a scene where the main character removes another guys teeth with a claw hammer. In great detail.

Oh and its all subtitled as its in Chinese or something.

Odd.

Stick with it - it's quite brilliant and deliciously twisted. Oh, and it's Korean.

I've just been half watching this ste - some of the fighting was good though. Shame there was no car chase though. Unless I missed it at the start?

How can you half watch a film with subtitles ?

Old Boy is a fantastic film. The other 2 in the trilogy though are terrible.

Brilliant film, but does need watching from beginning to follow the story properly and the fight scene along the corridor with the hammer amazes me everyime I see it.

This.

You need to see it from the begining.

The film is awsome in lots of ways. Love the way the director got the flash backs in, nice touches I have not seen before like in the hypnotism scenes.

I was not expecting the twist at the end either.

Yes the hammer scene was quite good.

If you want to see the best of this genre and the film which gave Old Boy many of its cues

watch Ichi The Killer.

Ichi the killer is ok but not in the same league IMO of course.

Takes the wierdness up a notch or two as well but does not have the acting, story or suspense of oldboy

How can you can you judge the standard of a film based on whether or not it has a car chase?
That is such a strange viewpoint that makes Oldboy look perfectly normal.

I was joking! biggrin

My missus always reckons that I only like films with explosions and car chases. I can never persuade her to watch any "proper" Jackie Chan films with me....

I agree that tunnel fight scene was amazing.
