I may be imagining this but have you noticed how a lot of mainstream films seem to go through periods where they contain common phrases?

A few years ago, I noticed several films would include the phrase, "now that's what I'm talking about."

Now the current line seems to be, "it is time," usually spoken by a grizzly wise old man. You'll notice the phrase mentioned featured in pretty much any trailer with a historic or fantasy tint.

I'm starting to wonder whether it's an in-joke for scriptwriters, where they choose a line then try and jam it into as many films as possible. Or it could just be lazy writing smile

Can you think of any other examples?

"That's nasty" Will Smiths tag line being used by others including his son.
