Just seen the trailer for this and it looks rather promising!

http://www.hbo.com/boardwalk-empire/about/video/of...

Anyone know if/when it'll be on our screens?!

PS - Apologies if it's been discussed elsewhere, but search function is still buggered and I couldn't see anything. I know there are a lot of Soprano fans on here, and as it's the new Terence Winter creation, hopefully this'll be another good 'un!

I'll be following this up...

Thanks for getting me in at the start, not when 3 series are gone!

It'll be on Sky, as will every HBO production from here on in, as they just signed an exclusive deal.

I caught a couple of episodes whilst out in the States.

Looks like Sopranos back in the 30's (or 20's)

Can't wait for it to come out over here & watch the whole series.

I'm hooked after the first two episodes – some really gritty scenes and great writing smack of the Sopranos. It's great – can't wait to watch the 3rd episode tonight biggrin It's got a bit of everything – Irish people beating their wives, people being drowned and shot in the face. And it's got Steve Buscemi in it and the guy who plays Omar in the Wire… it couldn't go too far wrong.

I think this will be on Sky Atlantic (replacing Bravo?) in Feb next year.

There is a new channel launching next year called Sky Atlantic HD which will show all new (and old) HBO programmes. No idea what package it'll fall into though! You would think entertainment but you never know!

Boardwalk Empire should be on about Feb time.

More details here: http://corporate.sky.com/page.aspx?pointerid=e9bfe...

Good find! Could be the best channel on SKY; HBO have some fantastic programmes.

Watched the 4th episode last night and now totally hooked in a 'The Wire' kind of way smile The various story lines are now progressing well and the main characters have become clear. It must have cost a fortune to make this as the 1920s sets and costumes are amazing.

The pilot episode cost $20 million alone, IIRC! It's certainly addictive and really well done – I already want to punch Al Capone in the head.

Anybody still watching this?

I am sick of the "Mrs Schotter" character, and the odd Prohibition guy (wow he took the money who saw that coming) is just a little too generic. I also feel it's dragging a bit too much for my liking. And I'll point out I loved "The Wire" so it's not a time-on-bum thing.

Yes, still watching it and enjoying it. And the prohibition guy didn't take the money, he gave it all to the intended recipient - the way they played it you thought he was going to give it to his wife but then we saw the other lady opening the envelope with the cash in it. The only real issue I have with it is the shear number of characters, it sometimes gets a little confusing as to who is who. I would imagine that watching it a second time some things would become clearer. They have done a great job of weaving historical characters into it, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enoch_L._Johnson for the real life Nucky Thompson.
