TV with built in Freeview

You can get boosters http://lmgtfy.com/?q=digital+aerial+signal+booster
but if there is nothing at all you might need a new aerial,is there an analogue signal being received?

i use an indoor antenna and 2x boosters, perfect signal to both pc(for recording) and TV
I stand corrected, I didn't realise you could use one although thinking about it there is no reason for it not to work given the type of signals handheld devices can pick up.The tuners built into the TV's are pretty similar to the freestanding tuners I would imagine. We have an Hitachi LCD with an inbuilt tuner, and it picks up everything brilliantly, we also have a Hitachi freeview box on another telly, and that too was brilliant, but it packed up. I have since tried several new freeview boxes, and they are all rubbish, not a patch on the Hitachi. Have had to settle with Phillips one as it was the best of a bad lot, and I was getting sick of going back to the shop with them and changing them. It's still not as good as the old Hitachi one was though
We have a booster in the loft too.

Had a similar problem when I replaced the TV in our conservatory. The boosters helped but didn't completely solve the problem due to where the broadcast transmitter is. The one I got from Argos worked better than the others. I'll have a look later and see what sort it was.
BG. I had the same problem when my old freeview box packed up. I got so fed up with how bad the new boxes were I bought a Humax instead.

You may have already done this, but to troubleshoot this I would start off by putting the TV where your main TV is, move the aerial lead across and check the TV works OK. This will determine whether the problem is with the TV or the aerial.
If it still doesn't work on the main TV aerial then either the TV needs to rescan the channels or it is faulty.
If it works OK on the main aerial then the problem is the aerial in your bedroom. You could try this on your main TV and see if you get a signal, if it doesn't work there either then you'll need to do something to improve the signal. Personally I would start by trying a better aerial before trying a booster, while a booster can help sometimes it can't boost what isn't there!
Finally, you'll be amazed what an effect poor aerial cable has on a TV signal, if there is a long cable between the aerial and the TV buying a length of decent coax and a couple of plugs will give you a much better signal than the cheap 'pound shop' extensions.

I am really confused with the digital signal, we have two aerials (same size) one directly below the other facing exactly the same direction and both with boosters. One gets BBC channels fine and the other has a level 3 reception which means it locks and pixelates all the time?
Why?

To start with, I'd check that the problem really is the aerial and not anything else like the booster or the cable. Swap the cables between the two aerials and see if the problem stays with the same aerial or moves with the cable. Why?

If it's the aerial then I'd check the connections, also check the mountings and the insulation (there needs to be plastic insulation between some parts of the aerial which are electrically active and other parts which are the mounting, if these touch then it degrades the signal).
If none of that helps, you could try moving the aerials further apart from each other, when two aerials are very close they can cause interference with each other.

Picked up a 40db booster today from a local department store (really helpful and said if it makes no difference I can pop it back).
Well tried it all over the bedroom and still says Signal strength is 0%
You cannot boost a signal that is not there in the first place. Where are you located? check this site for signal details.Well tried it all over the bedroom and still says Signal strength is 0%

Currently the Freeview signal is broadcast at a much lower power than the existing analogue signals, you do need a decent external aerial. Once the analogue signal is switched off in your area, the freeview digital signal will be boosted at least twice it's current power.
Get a high gain external aerial fitted.
