Did anyone watch this last night? If you didn't, you really should http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tlgzt/This...

What a terribly sad programme to watch. It documented how the US military have comprehensively failed some returning soldiers, and some still serving.

I do hope that it was a snapshot of a non-representative group, because if it wasn't, it's only a matter of time before we have a repeat of My Lai - if it's not already happened.

It was so sad watching a young lad decorated for lifting a burning car off his mates, whilst on fire himself, being interviewed whilst in prison serving a 52 year sentence for gun crime.

Was it ever thus.

Wars affect people quiite badly.

The big difference between the US and the UK is that in the US, affected individuals have easy access to guns.

Did you watch it Eric ? It was not the access to guns more the way troops suffering from PTSD where just being dosed up with drugs then shunted back out on the front line and left to get on with it.

If you don't have time to watch it this is a brief summary of the show
