We're taking toddler-JTW off to see In the Night Garden live in a few weeks - has anyone else been to one of these shows and are they any good?

I think the sleep deprivation will take care of that...

They do "Something Special"/"Mr Tumble" live?!?! That does surprise me, most of the parents I know hate the programme.

I was tempted to take my daughter the live show, but thought it might freak her out. As it is she's gone off 'In the Night Garden' so now I have to entertain her instead.

Having a 3 year old we have done a few of kiddies TV show live stage things, (Tweenies, Bob the Builder, Postman Pat, Chris and Poi (CBeebies presenters) and last Fireman Sam), despite my scepticism they have mostly been entertaining although being shouted at in Welsh (Fireman Sam) wasn’t that much fun.

We enjoy the program - well, the 2 year old does and she's getting pretty good at the relevant sign language too... The dancers at the Live show were not too shabby too smile

And my daughter seems to have gone off it a bit, but I'm sure she'll enjoy it.... Or be totally freaked out....

Whoever created In the night garden was obviously high as a kite. And getting Derek Jacobi to do the voice overs .... genius.

Thankfully I don't think our lad (2 years old) would particularly care for either. If I gave him a choice of :
- cbeebies
- disney channel
- DVD of Cars

Its the DVD of cars each and every time. He now recognises the intro tune, so I can now happily play Sheryl Crow in the car and he'll bop along to it.

In fact, I'm probably feeding his addiction by buying the little die-cast cars, putting a divx of the film on my phone so he can watch at bath time .... if swmbo knew that, she'd probably scream.

But I don't care, he's turning into a 2 y/o pistonhead, which absolutely has to be a good thing.

We took our two year old to see it a few weeks ago at the O2...he loved it. He was probably a bit young for it.

He's just discovered Cars and loves it....amazing how they latch on. Must find out how to get it on my iPhone...I have already ripped it to my Mac.

My daughter is going on sunday. I think it's the Pinky-ponk show in Brum.

We mentioned it and the grandparents volunteered themselves to take her. Job done. Apparently they are taking her to the SeaLife centre afterwards.

I can't imagine anything worse myself...actually I can, the Mr Tumble thing would be up there closely followed by Chris and Poi.

We took our grandson to the show in Glasgow last month, and he was literally shaking with excitement the whole time. He won't be 2 until February, so we were a bit concerned that he would be too young, but after the first couple of minutes he had sussed out what was happening and absolutely loved it.

It is a mixture of puppets and people inside costumes, and they move the scenery throughout the show so there is almost always something happening. Not sure about value for money, but we spent 90 quid for just about an hour (me, my wife, grandson and his mum), and I think my wife spent almost as much on merchandising.

I am sure you will enjoy it.

He could well enjoy that .... as would I.

He was mildly hilarious on holiday in Orlando a month back - whilst he enjoyed the shows, he didn't seem to even begin to enjoy character meets, and his favourite show? Hollywood Studios, the stunt car extravaganza. He was just saying "car ... car ... car ...."

Heck, even at the departure lounge, his favourite thing was running around the porsche and ferrari lottery win cars, continually pointing at the Ferrari saying "car, car, car".

The only word he can say with any conviction is "car" cloud9

My 2.5 year old son went to the London show at the old Millennium Dome a month or so ago.

He went with his grandmother, apparently the place was pretty much pitch black which freaked him out. They lasted about 20 mins, he was still not happy so she brought him home.
