I'm starting to go to the cinema more and more and wondered if it was worth getting this?

I tend to go on a Tuesday, as its half price, but with the unlimited card I can go when ever.

Does anyone have this? It claims it offers promotions for drinks/food etc. I'd like to know if they are any good or not, as currently its not justifiable, as I only go 2-3 times a month. But if it offers half price drinks etc then it will be worth it.

Interested in this too, I find Cineworld to be much nicer than the Odeon.

I've only ever had one drinks promotion come through in the 5 or so years I've had my card, even then it was only about £1 off the price.

You only have to go twice a month to make up the cost of the card, some months I won't go, others I'll watch 4 or 5 films. The fact that you can go any time means that you can avoid the crowds on Tuesdays and Orange Wednesdays.

Plus, the best thing of all, which I didn't know until I went with my brother the other day, is that you don't have to queue at the main box office like everyone else, just go to any till, be it pick and mix, or ice cream etc. and you can get your tickets there.

This is the attraction, avoiding busy times.

Seems a shame you don't get more promotions, we tend (not by my choice!) to get a drink and pop corn, which doubles the cost of the outing.

Take your own in, they don't allow it, but nothing to stop your significant other taking a big handbag and stuffing it full of drinks and snacks.

Apart from searching bags. If you refuse, they can chuck you out, wasted journey, but I'd get a refund for the tickets.

Also, apparently the popcorn is better...

If your going 2-3 times a week, that's £64 to £97 a month (assuming an 8.10 ticket)...so yeah I would say a £13.50 a month is probably worth it biggrin

Yeah seems worth it to me, you only have to go twice in a month (costing £16.20) to make it worth it. Since I've had mine I find I go way more often now price isn't an issue, at least once a week, sometimes twice if there are a couple of decent looking films out.

Well, I only ever go on a Tuesday, so the most I'll go according to my current spend is 4 times, meaning £16/month. So its still worth it. Add into the mix the fact I can go on a Sunday afternoon etc, its even more worth it.

I was more after advise with promotions for food/drink. I'm not bothered by it, its all the other half. I just know she'll always want popcorn!

I've only had mine for about 3 months, but I haven't seen anything yet that gives me money off in Cineworld...it does seem they are offering 20% off Chiquito's at my local retail park though!

I've got a card, only had it for 2 months now - in the first couple of weeks I went quite a few times, now I'm back to normal.

The problem now is that my friend who also got the card at the same time as me, has now got an OH - so just goes with her all the time, meaning I have to find other people to go with who haven't already seen the films I want to see!

I've had my card since 2004. When I'm at home I go about 2-3 times a week, which makes up for when I am away at sea. On balance, I'm still saving a decent amount of money over a year. I also find myself going to see many films that have iffy reviews or that I wouldn't normally see as they are 'free'.

I've had a few discount tokens now and then but, being a tight-fisted Scotsman, the cost-saving aspect is more than enough for me (I smuggle refreshments in too!).
