The slightly annoying guy from "Bang goes the theory" proves actually really rather fasinating to watch !! Another great prog from bbc 4!

And unlike Hammonds rather vacuous program on explosions, actually explains some of the science behind it, (great high speed photograph here too)

(on iplayer for those who missed it) biggrin

It could have done with more detailed scientific information, but it was a fairly entertaining watch.

As for the presenter: what a big girl's blouse! I thought he was going to run a mile on a couple of occassions when they were demonstrating various types of plastic explosives and detonators. laugh

Yeah, especially when the explosives guy stuck the det into the ball of plastic explosive, and you could see the presenter thinking, er, i'd rather not be sat here 1 foot away from that........ ;-)

The shaped charger stuff was pretty clever though, amazing that the conical copper system tunnelled about 12" into a steel bar (although they never told us what type of steel billet it was)

I thought it was very good

I too thoguht of immediate comparison with some of the stupid shows Hommond does, shame it's not the other way around

this guy is obvious pretty smart, was he one of the chaps from rough science? used to love that program
