Dave, freeview and freesat

[Minnsy]

TV numpty here.

Have a freeview enbabled HD ready TV. Live in a valley. Can't get freeview at the moment.

Q1 - If I can't get freeview now, will I ever be able to get it?

Q2 - If I got a mahoosive ariel, would this make any difference?

Q3 - I presume I can of course get Freesat (given neighbours have sky) but I want to watch Dave. And I refuse to pay subscription for Sky. So am I buggered on the Dave front (so as to speak)

Q4 - Any other simple solutions I have missed out?

Thankings...
