Apparently, Bernie doesn't believe tree is an appetite for it.. Ridiculous!

I can watch little league baseball fr the states on ESPN HD, but can't watch the biggest motorsport on the planet?!?!?!

I think Bernie 'says' that he doesn't think there is a market for it. I suspect what he 'means' is that if you want it you are going to have to pay for it. So far the BBC haven't been prepared to pay for the HD feed.

Exactly, people demonstrate their appetite by writing cheques with zeros on the end made out to B Ecclestone. rolleyes

And low bitrate upscaled HD at that.

BBC HD bitrate is very low, around the 9Mbps which really isn't acceptable for fast-moving HD content like F1.

Looks like nobody wants to pay for it - Or maybe not -

"Speaking to Germany's motorsport-total.com, {Bernie Ecclestone} said the problem lies with in-car cameras, which are still too large and heavy to mount on the cars. Current in-car cameras are extremely lightweight, and Formula One's TV operation would also have to find double the bandwidth to beam the signals back from around the track."

Or maybe -

"Ecclestone has been cautious about introducing new viewing technology into F1 since his attempt to introduce a multi-view service for pay-TV collapsed after just one year."

I'm sure Bernie, during an interview with Eddie Jordan the other week, said that we would have HD F1 for next year.
