This looks to be an interesting programme on ITV1 tonight at 2235. It's about James Hunt and Barry Sheene and what they got up to in the 70's.

Or so we thought.

We're now being subjected to Max Mosley protesting his innocence and Kelvin Mckenzie's soapbox.

More Hunt & Sheene please.

Talking about that famous James Hunt badge, anyone else notice Red Bulls take on it at the weekends Grand Prix.....

Spanky is bad enought.
But Tom Rubython (sp) is lower.

ETA - I'm wrong Max is a lot worse. But Ruby thorn is still a tt.

say what you like about el spanko, but MM did do wonders for both F1 & Road car safety.

for a more balanced view of Hunt read the Gerald Donaldson biog and watch the Neville Hay/Nigel Roebuck video

Sheen was hot on the safety - never did race at IoM did he?

Sitting on his bike, snogging the PR girls, with a fag on the go, swiggin a bottle of champagne.

Class!

Shocking to see how many people in this programme are dead.

Yes, he did race at the TT.

It was in 1971, riding a Suzuki in the lightweight of which he fell off at Quarter Bridge and also retired from the 250 Production.

His belief was that for the risks, he was not getting paid enough, so he never raced the TT again.

What could have been a decent programme has been ruined by talking heads, too much focus on the "modern equivalents", Max Mosley and constant ad breaks.

Typical ITV fodder then.

And now Tiger Woods. The world's most boring man who walks round a field hitting a ball with a stick.

Time to find something else to watch.

Stirling Moss summed it up - in those days they would win and go off chasing the women - now, they have to go and say thanks to Vodafone - just about says it all ... for all their prowess, so many of these sportsmen are deathly dull ...

The corporate message comes first - he who pays the piper calls the tune ...
