I saw this when it came out. It is absolutely epic.

Love him or loathe him, you will have a completely different opinion on the man after watching this.

On tonight 10pm on More4.

Probably the best sports documentary you will ever watch.

Very good documentary indeed. Highly recommended.

He has a pretty decent list of quotes too.

"Every punch is throw with bad intentions and the speed of the devil".

As far as I am concerned, he and Ali are the most captivating sports figures and personalities of all time. Nobody has ever come close to these guys in terms of energy, magnetism, raw appeal and controversy.

Great documentary. What blew me away wasn't so much his power when he was at his peak, but his sheer speed around the ring. The guy moved like a featherweight but hit like a train!

if d'amato had been a decade younger, tyson would probably be the most revered heavyweight and probably boxer of all time. he ended up with so many cocks in his entourage he was bound to come off the rails.

he was a lot more eloquent than i expected & obviously has a some intellect, but its hard to reconcile that when watching him bite ears etc.

a real enigma, who has his demons (no surprise considering his early life) but ive never seen a boxer win so many fights before a punch has been thrown. his opponents could barely look at him before the 1st bell.

even ali's opponents had a good go at him, but tysons guys were lambs to the slaughter

To be fair 1997-2002 was Tyson's 'mad man' period. Post 2003 he has changed considerably. I can't think of other sports men that prime ministers, politicians and people of immense power have courted bar Ali.

Thanks for the heads-up OP, thought it was an insightful doc, brought back memories of all the Tyson hysteria during the 80's.

half way through it now, and he's the only boxer who reminds me of a pitbull attacking. utterly savage in his prime with power possessed by many a heavyweight, but with speed matched by few if any. the confusion on his early opponents' faces showed what it must have been like to step into the ring with him.

Does Channel 4's website have a an iPlayer type thing where I can watch this?

Having watched Tyson's career fromn the very start - ITV featured him in about 1986 VERY early on ... before he literally burst onto the scene and won the title, and then watched all of his early defences, Bonecrusher, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tubbs etc, he was the most incredible sight walking into the ring. Agree with what someone said earlier - half the opponents never had a chance - watch the Michael Spinks fight - Spinks could hardly breathe as he walked in - lamb to the slughter, literally.

And he was unbeaten!

He was savage in those days.

Agree with the above about the man. Much more eloquent and considered than I expected, and mean as f* in the ring. Bit different to Saturday's "fight"...(though Haye has a burst of speed. Tyson would still have kicked his arse though).

His tattoo's pretty wicked too.

Watching that part of the fight, you can see why he did it. Holyfield was blatantly head-butting and the referee was doing nothing about it.
