My 7 yr old brother is bored and wants me to let him watch a film called "From Paris with love" because he saw an advert for it. It is an action film with John Travolta in it. The only thing is that it is rated 15. Has anyone seen it and if you have is it ok for a 7 yr old to watch?

Not seen it, but as it is not a 'U' or 'PG' or '12A', I would assume no?

Why don't you believe the rating it has been given?

If it says "15", then I would take it as a given that it is not really suitable for a 7 year old.

I've noticed over the past few years that as we become desensitized to violence and swearing in films, most 15 cert films these days would have been 18 cert ten years ago! So, no - NOT suitable for a 7 yr old!

What IMDB says about it;

Sex & Nudity
Towards the beginning of the movie, a female undresses while her husband sits with his back turned in a chair. We briefly see her in her bra and panties as she changes, and also see her bare back as she removes her bra, but no part of her breasts are seen. There is no nudity. The couple then kisses and off camera sex is implied.

There is a gun fight scene done in the middle of a bunch of mannequins. The mannequins are all without clothes and don't appear to be your typical anatomical style. They are very life-like in the genitalia and breast area including nipples.

The two main characters go to a we house and pay for a prostitute. It's all for cover to get in the building. One man barges into a room where some sexual acts are taking place, but no nudity is seen. In the next scene, while one man talks on the phone you can clearly hear the other man having loud off-screen sex with the prostitute.

Violence & Gore
Movie is filled with action, some blood and gore, but done in a comedic way. Human blood is frequently displayed, and killing people seems the norm.

Towards the end is alot of headshots, suprising action, and violent bloody shootings.

Profanity
Frequent use of expletives and malicious language.

Very strong language including too many to count F words, MF words, S words, etc.

At least 67 variations of the F word.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking
Small amount of alcohol and drug content. A few scenes that involve smoking and drinking

A character carries a vase full of Cocaine with him for a while.

A man snorts some cocaine due to peer pressure.

Frightening/Intense Scenes
Some may find the action scenes intense, but nothing frightening involved

To sum up I wouldnt let a 7 year old watch it.

I am wayyyyy from being a 'prude', but a film containing wes, hard drugs, blokes being shot in the head, and Travolta saying 'Motherfker' every second word "doesn't seem too bad" for a 7 year old???

I must really be getting out of touch...

I'd agree. Not a film for a 7 year old.
