A bit of discussion on the Skyline thread about this film so I thought that it deserved it's own thread.

I watched it last night and knowing what to expect I did enjoy it but it is very slow plus the effect of a long day at work plus a few Port and Guinesses, along with being in a warm dark cinema caused me to nod off so I only vaguely remember the last 20 minutes although I was awake right at the end.

Looking at discussions on imdb it's now making me think it's worth a second viewing.

SPOILER

I am sure the beginning of the film is the final scene. I won't say anymore but when I woke up this morning I suddenly remembered the tune that the soldiers were singing was the same at the end.........

Thought it was terribly boring.Appreciate that it was about suspense rather than the actually monsters, but even the bits where the monsters attacked or appeared wasn't that much of a suspense or scary.

Be aware that if you go to see this there aren't many scenes of attack, monsters or gore. If you want that watch The Mist - much better film.

The spoiler you mention I'm not sure about as the women had a hurt wrist when the main dude gets her from hospital due to the opening scene attack.

Just got back from watching it, and to be honest it was an hour and a half of waiting for something to happen. To add some more **spoilers** there was the part in the city where I was thinking the monsters would attack, but nothing. Then the bit on the boat........well they're bound to get attacked now, then nothing. Finally we get to the action sequence and something does happen for all of 30 seconds. So another half hour of walking and talking - then the finale which once again goes nowhere as the aliens just walk off.

I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt until the way it simply ended. I never once felt the protagonists were in any sort of real danger. It wasn't a bad film, the acting was decent, effects reasonable for such a small budget and the cinematography was very good. However it just felt like a travel drama/documentary with some aliens added.

Also, since the USA had spent billions building a massive wall to keep them out, why exactly was there a great big gap in the middle which was completely unmanned?

Really liked this.

I can see a lot of confusion stemming from the title though because that's not really what its about, that is just the back story.
Considering it was put together on 2 laptops for $500,000 its an amazing achievement, good luck to the director for future projects.

And as one review put, it has the best sex scene this year wink
