I have no interest in soaps normally, but this was on in the background at work and I accidentally saw it.

Boy, am I glad I did!

That was, without doubt, some of the worst special effects I have seen for many, many years! laugh Their cunning insertion of the clip of a model tram falling off a table really made me laugh.

Thanks, ITV thumbup

I find all these soap tragedies hilarious. Dangerous places Coronation Street, Ramsey Street and Albert Square. It's all murder and mayhem.

Cost £1million and took ages to film apparently.

Glad to see they didn't waste their time!

It was that bad it had to be seen to be believed!.. The closing scene reminded me of the infamous 'Ghost Watch' for some reason!

Is it supposed to be a form of comedy (black comedy?) ?

I don't watch this crap so not sure if it takes itself seriously laugh

hahahahahahaah that is terrible!

my fave part is where the back end of the tram flies up into the air, makes a godzilla kind of noise than slams down onto the house, which makes a woman scream and some baked beans fall off a shelf.

runner up for me was how the tram had zero flex, even when hitting the floor
seriously some people need sacking for making something so bad and allowing it to be aired.

I was waiting for an announcement from the train driver

'All change here for Euston and Darlington - Mind the doors!'

Remember this program is watched by women. They are are not fussy about the special effects as they have no clue to begin with. More interested in the what Tanja has done to her hair.

To this day, my missus can still not see the difference between a dvd on blue ray and regular dvd.

Was this done because ITV is short of money and lots of "established soap stars" (for established soap stars, see actors who can't act but just play themselves and can't get a proper job) have asked for more money?

Didn't Emmerdale Farm drop a plane on the cast once?

That made me laugh too hard, why did it make the Godzilla noise and come down like something out of the 1980 Jurassic Park films, terrible.

The driver scrambling across his cabin, to the stop button? What.

The terrible head on view of the tram coming towards the gap.. Too fake.

The graphics really were bad. I heard they were spending a million quid on this one episode so I thought yeah I'll watch that, haven't watched it in a while but this'll be good as thats quite some money. Jesus, it was terrible.

I think they must have spent the million quid on the advert they've been running up to this, flashing between the happy music sun shining coronation street people and the night time ambulances and screaming. Then they realised they had to film the crash so they got a model train set out.

They should have used the original footage - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfJ1g2_wE4Y

You can see where they got the idea from biggrin

They advertised it so well in advance that I watched it. I don't know who the characters are...but it was enjoyable in a soap series negotiating contracts type of way. My favorite for that move was Dynasty, when they had a church massacre round about the 1980s iirc.

£1,000,000 on that, must have run a fking big bar bill, 'cause they spent sod all on special effects.

Godzilla rides again, as a tram.
