And from Shane Meadows' website: “The next really big turning point in my life was 1990, with the Hacienda, the rave, The Stone Roses, ecstasy, the whole shambolic thing.
“I’d seen a lot of friends get into heroin off the back of that, so in a kind of way, Shaun’s journey, if there is to be a second series, will continue in 1990.”

king wait! Frankly I'm amazed at the lack of films celebrating the rave scene. It was a really important part of musical history, and the illegal rave scene is surely perfect for a decent film.
Good news though. I watched the original This is England just a few days ago. It's not perfect but it's a very good film.
