Recently I have watched:

Jesus Camp - Scarily true documentary on the invasion of the Evangelical Church in America, and its effect on Children, Politics etc... After seeing it, it made me wonder how America can still be the most powerful country in the world. Incredible.

Catching the Friedmans - Completely weird, and still can't figure out whether they did it or not even though the dad wears glasses similar to these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVcyNANK5cY

Currently watching Food Inc.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

The Cocaine Cowboys. It's mammoth (4hrs or so IIRC) but an incredibly detailed first hand account from some guys who smuggled weed then basically introduced Cocaine to America. Sums of money that are almost beyond comprehension, even today let alone in the 70's.

Exit Through the Gift Shop:

"The story of how an eccentric French shop keeper and amateur film maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner"

Master & Commander was on the other day.
That gives a pretty good insight in to how the Royal Navy of 2010 is run.

Restrepo - A documentary about some US troops in Afghanistan. The film stays with them for the duration of their tour of duty. It strips out the usual macho US soldier nonsense you usually see and lets you get a glimpse of the world that these guys live in. Facinating and terrifying at the same time.

Richard Macers Behind the scenes at the museum was an excellent FOTW series. The Motor museum was excellent, also the secret life series are very good.

Men of Rock - it's surprising how many Geologists and major discoveries are connected to Scotland.

Touching the Void

Watched it recently after reading the book on holiday. The book obviously gives a better and more detailed account, but the documentary is equally fascinating/unbelievable.

Man on Wire - about the french dude who walked a high wire between the World Trade Centre towers (among other crazy places)

The documentary by two brothers on the NY Fire Dept that was filming on 9/11 so became one about that.

The Cove - about the slaughter of dolphins in Japan

Love the Beast - Eric Bana and his car.

The Right Stuff is not a diocumentary (not even close) - although it is a good film.
