Got this for xmas, won't get chance to watch it until the wife goes back to work. How good is it, is it up to his usual xmas DVD standards, hope so.

I hadn't bought a Clarkson DVD for a very long time before this one. Dare I say he's a bit more grown up and sensible than on TG?! It was worth a watch for sure.

Thought it was good, far more car focussed than a Top Gear episode.

It's a cracking watch and you can see how good of a driver he actually is for a change! The opening shot is awesome, the noise is cloud9

It's very good, although there is a bit of skull-duggery in the motor race that I am not a fan of, I wont ruin it, but keep your eyes on the orange Escort and who is driving it.

Didn't see anything suspicious? Driver appears to be some bloke whose surname starts with the letter F, but I'm not sure of the significance...? Same bloke did clock the fastest lap, but don't see how this is relevant to the skull-duggery in question.

Edit: Okay, so a certain NF is a racing driver (not a staggeringly prominent one, from what I can see), and drives the orange Escort, but I don't see how that is a big deal still. smile

You might also notice that he was on the film set for all the other shoots, and Jeremy appears to be falling and battling with this other Escort throughout the race; my guess is Jeremy stuck to the bumper of Faulkner, let him do all the tricky stuff, and Faulkner clearly moves over to let Jeremy past on the last corner, and finishes just behind him and the chap he was racing with.

..all seemed a bit random to me, Ferraris, Lambos and then....an Ariel Atom. Later on we have JC doing an impersonation of Steve McQueen during the opening sequence of "Le Mans" - stopping at Tamburello and staring thoughtfully down the track whilst he remembers Ayrton - not entirely convincing.

Highlight for me was the cameo appearance of Lyddenmeister Bill Richards - now there is a man who really knows his cars and can drive..

I was just going to say that, the Zonda scenes are simply amazing.

I felt Tiff's piece on the Zonda on Fifth Gear was better. Both JC and TN were kind of lost for words, but Tiff's speechlessness said a lot more. You just can't script that stuff.

I will own that car within the next 10 years.

As usual with his DVDs, I've waited until after Xmas and picked it up cheap. £5.99 on play.com smile

I'm looking forward to it arriving.

They were good, but then most of Clarksons "own" DVDs do tend to be very good, entertaining, all about SPEED and POWAAAAH!

They're as good as the Top Gear Apocalypse is bad.

Watched this now, thought it was brilliant. The best bits for me were the Zonda bit, lovely noise not a standard zonda though so I would have thought it would dent the hugest bank balance. Also loved the rubber faced Clarkson bit in the Ariel Atom been done before but still hilarious.biggrin
