Really? I always think they go in 2 directions with these.

Either they are so complicated and above even generally intelligent people as to be unfathomable.
OR
They get lots of kids down to do crappy experiments/demos that don't really help as they are over simplified.

Tradition really is bunk.

He's coming across as a trying to be cool with the kids type and he's talking gibberish at the best of times. I'm surprised if the children even know what he's going on about let alone understanding.

The RI Christmas Lectures have been dumbed down.

Yeah, a bit disappointed frown . I saw Mark Miodownik speak last week and was very impressed by him and how he came across. He just seemed to be trying too hard to be "down with the kids". I do think the time slot should be improved though, this program should be early afternoon on BBC 1 or 2. It is a shame that parents without freeview miss out on a science program aimed for kids.

I know this is supposed to be for the kids but I've loved them for years however the past couple of years I have found them too simplistic. I don't know if it's me getting older or the kids of today can't concentrate on the harder stuff, probably a bit of both.

I would definitely watch if Brian Cox was doing them though, I find he's very good at getting the knowledge across.
