At work everyone has bad taste in music but me. I love proper rock music, mostly 'classic'. So I either have Kerrang or Planet Rock on.
Other people like crappy modern stuff and have Heart of Radio 1 on. It's so fcensoredng awful, puts me off my work.
I'll use the old phrase 'you could cut the tension in the air with a knife'.

The answer is Absolute radio. Some of the adverts are a bit annoying if you listen to it all day everyday but other than that it's spot on.

I keep tuning the radio in my office to the local community radio station. This is good because they do daft things like play 15 minute prog rock anthems followed by an item about cheese. There's a community radio station in bristol that does an hour on a Saturday of nothing but downbeat reggae. That's completely awesome.

I guess it boils down to being a democracy so if 3 out of 5 want radio 1 then that's what you're gonna get. I suggest another job where there is not a policy to play radio all day, or earplugs.

Can you connect a laptop up to the sound system and fire up an internet radio station. We tried some chillout stuff in our office and it didn't stir much complaint.

Or alternatively, connect it up to Last.FM or Spotify and stream one of the radio stations. That way you can get a seemingly infinite mixture of music so nobody / everybody can complain smile

Do what I did in the garage, get a DAB, tune it to Planet rock and the remove all the buttons except Volume and Power.

To be honest I can't cope with Radio 1 blaring out, If you can't all agree then it should be off altogether and people use ear phones

We stream Nova which is a French radio station. They play such a big mix of music that nobody can complain!
