Why BBC WHY!!!!!

I wasn't able to catch todays action at the F1 so went onto the red button in a vein attempt to see if they had catch up as i wasn't near my laptop to watch it on Iplayer.

Reading through the options guess what they had as big news...... yes thats right the person who won todays GP with a click me to read more...... WHY.... WHY ON EARTH WOULD I WANT TO READ MORE..... F1 is dull enough when you dont know who's won..... why tell me the punch line and expect me to read the dull bit in the middle... they do this all the time on the news channel with no warning say who's won the golf, tennis, football the list goes on but some how they manage to build fecking suspense (string out) when announcing the big weekend is on radio 1 for an hour.......

Christ sake.....

Sorry for the rant but like many of you i'm enjoying the sun and wanted to watch snipits whilst doing other things..

Who can i genuinely complain to? Or am i in the minority who prefer not to know the result...

I spent all morning avoiding it, although it was a radio 4 news bint who ruined it for me, no 'if your an f1 fan close your ears, here is the result' or 'here is the sport'. No it went along the lines of 'Gadaffi forces killed more civilians, Joe bloggs has won the grand prix'................

Avoid ALL media until you get to see your recorded race. That's my motto.

+1 Unfortunately there is no consistency between the media companies. They should have an agreement that results shouldn't be displayed/broadcast until the day after or similar.

The number of times I've had my day ruined my loose lipped presenters telling me stuff I didn't want to hear... mad

Today's race is still worth watching end to end even if you know who won.

Without giving anything away, lets just say it wasn't the usual snoozefest, with a truly comic moment.

Why bother if you think that ^^^

And it was one of the most interesting races so it's worth a watch anyway.

There was a classic a couple of weeks ago on the BBC news immediately before MOTD when the sport presenter was going over the day's events. She said highlights of the games would be shown on MOTD after the news, so if you don't want to know the scores look away now. She then proceeded to read out the scores...

So whilst watching the sports news, you are miffed because you didn't just turn over the channel, or mute it?

iPlayer is no easier, go to www.bbc.co.uk to find iplayer and try to avoid the sports headlines next to the iplayer bit and they've usually got a picture of the winning car the iplayer.

Still great race, one of the very best for years, turns out F1 drivers can overtake, very well it seems too.

I made the mistake of checking twitter before the race and had the result thrown in my face. Still watched it and it was a great race if a little dull at the beginning but towards the end things really picked up.

that's why you always go straight to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer and avoid the BBC landing page!

I'm sorry, but they can't not report the NEWS just because you decided not to watch when it actually happened?

Even when its on at 7:00am on a Sunday? When they are showing it later on in the day, on the same network? Aren't the people who actually care about the result, those that will watch the race? Those who don't care for f1, wont care to hear it on the news, so who does spoiling the result serve?

I think the general idea is that the F1 enthusiasts will be up early to watch the race live...the ones that aren't too bothered might watch it in the afternoon. smile

People.. If you don't want the results, don't watch anything that may tell you. That would include radio news reports, news websites, TV news channels, and so on and so forth.

  • I clicked on the BBC red button
  • I scrolled my eyes down the 7 options hoping to see F1 catch up
  • At the bottom there's scrolling news which had the F1 result which you could click to read more about.

Too much media these days.

Go straight to the iPlayer sport section (NOT the BBC Sport Webpages) and you should be able to click on the race video without learning the result inadvertantly.
