Hi, Just bought a nasty cheap £30 freeview HD box from Tescos. Have a decent aerial - big wideband 52 elementer in the loft, pointing (with a compass measurement) toward the sutton transmitter. I get great signal strength and pick up 80 channels easily, but nothing on the HD mux. Anyone able to get HD channels from Sutton Coldfield? Apparently they wer "turned on" prior to the world cup last year, but we don't do the big switch till September. Lots of conflicting info on the web.

Im fairly sure I'm on the Sutton Colfield antenna but I couldnt get Freeview HD despite having a new aerial and the website telling me my area could get it. Ended up getting freesat installed instead.

Hmmn. Doesn't look good (despite the sample of one!). Hopefully things will be sorted in september changeover...

We live in Shropshire, and receive signals from Sutton Coldfield. Our new TV has picked up the full range of HD channels (BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITVHD etc), and that is with the original ariel in the loft which must be 20 years old at this point!

Sorted. After a bit of investigation, it seems the HD mux is transmitted from Lichfield not the main sutton transmitter. Took a compass bearing off google earth and everything sorted redface) Can't believe 13 deg made such a difference to the reception!
