I'm sure when it came out in the USA at the end the dad presses the key fob and the car starts - or does the european version key fob not allow that?

The ad would make no sense unless the car had remote starting surely? That's the whole point of the ad and entirely the humour of the thing.

The ad for the last model was similar. The child went around the house trying to make blinds go up and stuff hoping the house would have the same automated gadgets the car did. Why doesn't the European Passat have that key fob start function? Is it some health and safety thing or do VW think someone is more likely to nick the car before the driver gets in it here. I would have thought that's more likely in the US.

I don't know about the EU, but it's an offence in the UK to leave a car unattended with the Engine running.

Ah hahahahahahaha.

They just took the US Advert, photoshopped (videoshopped) an eu spec car in badly, eg. the reflection on the windscreen doesn't change when he has the door open or shut, then at the end they cant start the engine so make a lame light sabre noise for the lights going on.

Talk about rip off Britain they cant even give us the full advert, its like VW went to a tesco store and got a computer guy to do a tesco value remix.

Maybe pub talk but I thought insurers won't pay out if the vehicle is stolen whilst the engine is running without you in it?

The EU and US Passat models are very different, for the latest generation they've designed entirely separate versions for each market.
