Couldn't resist it following the previous 'baiting thread'. Margaret Thatcher was a knumbnuts P.M. who deluded herself into believing her own rhetoric, it led to her downfall. Seems to me she managed to destroy more than create, most of her policies were short term gains for her own political convenience.

Wrong. She dragged this country from being workshy and on the brink of collapse towards a working economy. Labour then went and pissed it up the wall. Again.

And yet Labour, in the same timescale, gave us 2 (questionably legal) wars, an economic crisis worse than any in living memory, wiped 10%+ off average house prices, crushed small business under bureaucracy AND made short term policies for their own political betterment.

NEXT!

It's a piece of piss baiting any political party at the moment.

Tories - couldn't win an election by themselves.
Labour - utter failures presiding over the worst economic disaster of recent history.
Lib Dems - coco coalition failures getting punished for putting pragmatism over principle and selling their souls to grab just a little power.

Etc etc.

Now is actually a decent time in politics. Labour will have to become honest again. The Tories understand they can't follow silly dreams because they need the support of a party that, frankly, was brave enough to put "pragmatism over principle" or "national interest before willy-waving".

Amazingly it's better at the moment politically than it has been in years. Despite the circumstances being infinitely more dire.

I hope we Brits have the strength to get through it...

They would have done if Labour hadn't bent the rules so far in their own favour.

On a level playing field, they would have won a majority.

The only thing I can think of that is Teflon coated is the invention of AGW, or "Global Warming" as it was told back then by Thatcher in a speech to the UN on November 8th 1989.

That's the elephant in the room, tough to hide, and is the gift that will keep on biting us up the arse. Did I say 'us'? I meant 'them' hehe

Why the fk did Monckton allow it to happen? banghead

True. She taught Blair how to turn Labour into the Tories, who then was bright enough to jump ship and leave Brown and Labour carrying the can.

So it would appear the OP had it wrong. It's not that easy to bait Tory supporters, primarily because they're not supporting a party which buggers up the country every time it comes to power.

Labour supporters, on the other hand, have to live with knowing they've ticked the box of the party which repeatedly drives the country into the ground.

I think you forget they have really bad memories which are wiped clean every 4 or 5 years especially when they have been in Gov for a while.
I am sure there maywell be figures for how much st they have left us in since 1946.
