Olympic torch coming near you - will you go and see it?
Discussion
I won't and I don't.
Also by way of reminiscences, who else remembers the opening ceremony of the World Student Games in Sheffield 1991. Helen Sharman was picked to light the beacon, she was the first Briton to go into space in case the younger end have no clue who she is.
On live international television, watched by ooh maybe a dozen or so, she picked up the torch, started to run through the stadium, tripped, the burning embers dropped out of the torch, set fire to the carpet, and then she went on to light the beacon with a smashed empty unlit torch.
Comedy gold.

It did make me wonder when hearing this on the radio this morning what the consequences would be if you ran up to the torch bearer with a fire extinguisher and extinguished the flame
