I have always found the various surveys that come up each year are at variance with my own reality, (Ok,,bad judgement , I suspect). I live in Canada which scores highly in this survey, but it seems to me that things like fun, culture, excitement and so on are never factored in.
I saw a survey a while ago where Vancouver scored higher than NY or London, whereas in reality there is simply no comparison unless you want to sail, ski and shoot moose, I suppose.
How do you judge "good"?...I lived in London for a couple of years and thought it was sensational.

"Good" = lots of opportunities to do the things I want to do, without many restrictions. For me, by that definition, living in the UK is "good". If it wasn't, I'd move to somewhere it is.

I was just as interested to read one of the linked articles about how likely the wealthy are to leave due to high taxes, anti-social behaviour and the weather...

Some fanciful journalism there.

Of the 36% who said they would like to move abroad, only 14% are likely to leave in the next two years, i.e. seriously considering it - a shade over 5% of the total.

"5% of wealthy people might leave the country over the next two years" isn't a very dramatic headline.

I'm actually surprised by how low that is. But then I guess most people have already left the country. I know I have.
