Shame he only got 12 months community service though.
To be honest I think that what he's had is much worse than any punishment they could give him... I certainly don't think he's likely to re-offend.
Seriously though, I think there are people in the world who deserve it more than this guy. Its not as if he raped a granny or tampered with kids or the like, he broke into an empty warehouse and tried to steal a bit of cable, wrong I know but hardly the crime of the century. Hell has mended him but I think it's over the top to suggest that he deserved it, the punishment doesn't fit the crime IMHO.

I am coming to the view that the Singapore crime prevention strategy and social /economic model works well (where I live) ....could it be applied to the UK?
medium level crime canresult in getting caned
very little if any dole fallback for the unemployed
you are not allowed in unless you can "add value"
so there is a strong motive to work and not commit petty crime.
Income Tax is also negligible

Agreed, and he hasn't even had the leccy bill yet, 10 million Watts for 1 second = £5 grand.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that it's a fitting punishment in the judicial sense, or that judges should order such a punishment. But it's entirely fitting in the sense of being somewhere you shouldn't be, attempting to steal something you shouldn't steal and facing severe consequences.Seriously though, I think there are people in the world who deserve it more than this guy. It's like stealing a car, crashing it and dying. Or breaking into the house of an angry and violent man, and getting beaten senseless.

Presumeably there's no chance now of him ever working, but he'll no doubt be able to continue to breed. So we'll have to keep him and however more more kids he fathers for the rest of his life.fss111 said:
