Firstly,

I have learned, like many on here, to give any DM article a hard stare, but this time I have to agree with them 100%.

This st doesn't surprise me. This specific event might be an isolated incident but I have heard enough stories to keep the Daily Mail running for years. The problem is that the caring profession doesn't give a st. They are just there to take the money and find patients an inconvenience. I am sure there are plenty of decent nurses and doctors but I bet there are double the amount of those who couldn't give a st. I mean, water as a prescription to the elderly? WTF.

Only thing I can thing of in their defence is that they have to put up with disruptive people all the tiem so to leave him there may have been the best action - we don't know if he was being abusive or whatnot.

Sadly, I think after taking abuse for so many years people come a bit desensitised and less caring.

Could have at least put him in the recovery position rather than stepping over him.

True. It pisses me off to hear about members of the public taking it out on hospital staff.

You can understand why they didn't though. Would you want to be the one to try and move the argumentative drunk guy who came in and refused to give up the bottle and be treated?

It doesn't take much to envisage the drunken patient waking up and in their confused state attacking whoever tried to put them in a better position.

Except it is. You're stating that the majority of those in the medical profession don't care about their patients and are in it for the money. I think you've got your proportions the wrong way round. Severely.

Maybe, but we'll never know, really, so I'll take back my "double that" and suspect 50%. Not great, even if it were just 20%.

And if they end up dead on a hospital floor they'll get the same reaction from me.

Both at the same time to the point of needing to go to the hospital....no, probably not that many.

I expect some may have a story or two to tell, though, that's all.
