Aww what a pity

I don't know why this sort of behaviour is discouraged in prison

But it wasn't his fault, it was the fault of "the violent 1972 movie Deliverance".

Sadly I suspect the resulting inquiry will somehow cost more than incarcerating him for the rest of his life frown

I hope the inquiry goes something along the lines of 'Did he hang himself?' 'Yup' 'Righto, let's have a cup of tea then'.

I wish we still had the death penalty in this country. A 9mm bullet or a piece of rope is cheap; life incarceration and subsequent inquiry if the cowardly fk decides to do the proper thing, isn't. And why waste money on utter scum?

You think that lawyers wouldn't have field day on the 28 appeals and retrials

What a shame, if there was more information given to the public about violoent evil scum who want to take their own lives I could have popped a few metres of old rope into the post to save him having to wait so long.

Apparently the film cause him to confess (or boast?).

Not a big fan of capital punishment, but I would make an exception for him.

Maybe we should put the lawyers up against the wall as well! tongue out

Obviously the lawyers are just out to make a living, and given the opportunity will string a case out to maximize their income - maybe there should be some arrangement where cases that goes on for many appeals and then fail should be paid for by the lawyer who instigated the retrials? Just thinking out loud.

I know American law is different, but in a study I read about, drug dealers on death row are apparently safer than drug dealers on the street. Surely, if you've been convicted of a crime heinous enough to be put on death row then that punishment should be carried out...

There are obviously lots of grey areas, and I'd hate to think that an innocent man could be put to death, but in solid cases why mess about?

Oh well.

The lawyers might make money, the taxpayer might lose money and his family might make some compo.

But an evil person has removed themself from the world.

Overall result: good.
