So now, if you kick the ball more than six feet in the air when shooting at the goal, the ball will go over the fence..
Of course it does beg the question, why the hell would you not take them down before erecting the fence. Most council run pitches around here have the posts removed for summer whilst seeding and regrowth is going onSo now, if you kick the ball more than six feet in the air when shooting at the goal, the ball will go over the fence..
Could be BS

Big deal - sounds like the goal posts are due to be moved imminently anyway. Just that logitically they couldnt organise it so it all fits together perfectly.
Perhaps the contractor putting the fence up thought it was out of his remit to touch the goal posts and thought it would be done soon enough anyway.

The bit they never tell on these kind of stories is. Did the contractors gormlessly carried on erecting the fence through the goal. Or did someone in an administrative position sanction the work after being told of the goal post issue.
They decided on the fenced play area boundary. The boundary runs straight through the middle of the goal posts. They will now be moving the goal posts and making it shorter.
The contracts removing the goal posts are not the same as the ones installing the fence.

I love how one of the quotes says that putting a fence across the pitch makes for a larger playing area?
