Hopefully he will go on his holiday and not come back.

Lets face it if he does return from his holiday then he will get a very expensive trial and short sentance and sponge off us for the rest of his days

Good question and IM genuinely curious to the answer as to how this can be.

To be refused bail the prosecution must show that the defendant will abscond, interfere with a witness or commit further crimes.
I am sure there are other reasons, but they seem to be the main ones used.

The paper says the man died after an accident outside a pub.

So perhaps the lad isn't wanted for murder so you can all put your pitchforks away!

If you're not all that arsed about family/work etc, I imagine that dropping off the radar is quite easy. If I can work this out, a judge can, hence off to remand they go.

Incident, not accident.

"Yeah, I know I'm accused of killing your dad/husband, but can't we talk about this after my holiday? I'm booked to spend a fortnight eating English breakfasts and drinking Stella in Magaluf."

wouldn't it be a wonderful if he was arrested on arrival in Kavos/Ibiza/Magaluf and held on remand for two weeks, then sent back on his return flight

My apologies.

Point being it wasn't a fight.

Manslaughter isn't murder either.

For all we know the "victim" took a swing at him he punched him back and he died. We don't know the details, but the fact that he is not charged with murder and has been allowed leave to go on holiday would suggest to me that it isn't what a lot of you are thinking.

Remember, when a judge ruled that police bail was unlawful, most of us agreed with him. When one says a suspect should be allowed to go on holiday we respond with anger.

I think those of you that agree with the judge about police bail should take a long look at yourselves.

This is exactly what we have judges for, to make these judgement calls.

If someone was accused of being involved in the death of a loved on in your family but was allowed to go off to Spain or wherever he is going while awaiting trial would you be happy?

YES!

Why the fk would you accept the words "guilty" or "innocent" from a judge but nothing else?

If a judge said that it was OK we must put our trust in them.

O/T did you agree with the judge about capping the amount of time a suspect can spend on police bail?

Typically emotion overrides common sense and people act like we have the worst judges in the world, it is pathetic.
