...did anyone else catch the rather cheeky edit that the news program ran re Old Scotland Yard?

As the news over bribes to coppers was breaking they had comments on about it with the famous 3 sided rotary sign going round in the picture, first New Scotland Yard, then the Met police sign THEN as the third side came round they had over dubbed it [?] with the red badge of the news of the world.

Thought it was quite "cheeky" and never saw it again, LOL.

It was also on the later news.

I think BBC have been particularly enjoying this episode, but that graphic was the same kind of thing they have done for many other stories.

Custard test please - i.e. tin of custard or PH logo going round on the cheese!

yes Certainly seem to be enjoying it. Noticed a R4 presenter this morning, quipping "disappeared faster than a NOTW E-mail" when reporting on the disappearance of something.

Clearly the BBC has not heard of throwing stones in glass houses.....I fancy all news outlets, paper, tv or internet, should be very wary of where this little storm will move to once the NOTW is old news.

Given the relish with which the BBC News, and ITV come to that, have indulged themselves in kicking NI I would suggest that they are in the clear as far as hacking is concerned. They have police 'informers', of that there is little dobut, but I can't see them paying out £100,000 in bribes.

That said, their readreship is not that bothered by the celeb breaking news typ of revelation. There's just not time enough.

The ones who have something to worry about are those nespapers (and politicians?) who have benefitted from the hacking. There was muted response from most, the Guardian excepted, at first although others have come to the fore. The strange (yeah, right) thing is that here is something that the opposition could really put the boot in with and what do we get from Labour, a sort of apologetic cough.

It's become a bit more assertive of late but initially all we got was that there should be changes.

harman, in her delightful way, was very muted in criticism on TV of Cameron and NI being in bed with one another. Many people might have felt that she was accepting that labour were just as blameworthy, but surely not. It was the only time I've seen her speak or read something where she didn't say that things would have been better is a woman had been involved. This, to me, was an acceptance that she was part of it all.

Anyone remember her speach to party after Murdoch put his weight behind the tories? Very bitter, accusatory and viscious. Now, it would appear, she's muted.

Can't think why.

I'd imagine the presence of Tom Baldwin in Red's Press Office has made them a little nervous.

As for Harriet, she should go home and get Jack's tea on.

There seem to be a lot of clenched cheeks from a lot of people at the moment.

My cheeks are clenched tighter than those of a choirboy in a seminary at the thought of the Government falling over and Mr Milipede getting the keys to No.10.

I'm not particularly fussed about what happens to Cameron either way, but Milipede.

yikes

I was thinking more of other papers, Milliband is as guilty as Cameron and will be investigated in time with his boy.

The big worry is from a few other papers.

If seen to be rife, then you can guarantee there will be new 'press regulations'. The one good thing about the UK press is their ability to do investigative journalism.

I would like to disassociate myself from that very apt, and indeed funny, remark.
