Pity your topic title couldn't reflect it.

Thanks to whoever changed the title - 'Pah, women drivers' was hardly appropriate.

Tragic, yes, but one of the stupid little rules I have for myself is "Never walk or stand behind a reversing car".

A very sad accident. Poor girl.

A very good peice of advice I was given years ago was to never stand directly behind a car you're directing. Always stand slightly to the side as you never know if someone will make a mistake.

A very sad accident frown

One thing though - it says she was a lerner, and her mum had jumped out to guide her in - does that mean she wasnt supervised while driving? Hence not having a valid license or insurance?

I think there is a hint of that, it ends with a statement about learner drivers being able to practice on private property, even though the car park is accessible by the public.

In this case, I think they've decided that she's going to suffer enough.

Yes, they have. A terrible accident and i feel so sorry for the girl.

It does highlight the dangers of unprofessional supervision though, which is something i've always had strong reservations about.

Very sad indeed, but why was the "learner" parking the car and not the mother?

Erm, isn’t that what your meant to pay a pro driving instructor to do from the safety of the passenger seat?

I learned the basics from my dad before an instructor was involved. I'm sure millions of us have.
