The government needs your help. The latest excuses used for low growth of GDP (it was a bit sunny, someone got married, Earthquake knocking over some wooden houses in Japan etc) were seen by the general pubic as "a bit ropey"....

So the chancellor needs your help to come up with a better list of excuses for the next GDP figures.....

Please make your 'sensible' suggestions below....

First one from me to get you going....

The dog ate my manufacturing sector.

The economic growth's in the post.

The wrong type of growth.

The government tried to deliver strong economic growth, but sorry, you were out.

The government sent everyone in the country a message that the recession was over but Rupert Murdoch deleted it.

The fixation on GDP is part of our problem IMO, it's a poor measure of how well a country is doing. Low GDP for the right reasons (i.e. sacking the public sector) would be good long term.

rofl

I left the economic growth in my trouser pocket and accidentally put it through the wash.

The economic growth is here, it's just lost between the sofa cusions.

Growth is small, but if it was warmer it would look more normal.

It's all Thatchers fault for destroying our manufacturing base
It's all Labours fault for spending all the pennies

Growth is unsustainable in the current economic climate
Growth needs sunshine and water. We've had too much of one and not enough of the other.
