... gets outed as a pornographer.

This should be right up PH's street, it has NIMBYs, bikes, metal and porn;

I think this sealed his fate:

I live in a million pound house in the country – the reason you buy a million pound house in the county is a bit of peace and quiet.
And the porn link;

Hooker and hard core model Nicki Lewis is aiming to clean up...by peddling porn on the Internet.

Lewis - real name Saffron Cocks - "promises the world's most beautiful women doing unspeakable things exclusively for you" in a sick, on-screen magazine which could earn her more than pounds 2million.

Disgusting pictures of Lewis, which can be seen by any child surfing the Internet on a home computer, have appeared already as a "come-on " to her magazine - Nicki's World.

And in an interview on another web site, she claims to have engaged in group sex, partner-swapping, prostitution, sado- masochism, as well as being raped and abused by a number of men. Lewis describes herself as an international model. In reality she lives in a modest semi in Lytham St Anne's with photographer boyfriend Andrew Torkington. And she cycles around nearby Blackpool on a bike.
hehe

I honestly thought they'd got the names the wrong way around until I googled.

In the name of accuracy and research, obviously.

Is the occupation of the person who complained more or less important than their right to enjoy their home?

Had they moved into a house near the location of an established festival / racetrack / music venue, then there would be a case to ridicule them, as due diligence prior to purchase, would have identified the potential source of any regular disturbance . . . .as it is, the bikers festival is apparently new and according to the article, doesn’t seem to have a licence.

To be fair, it was 1996. The way that article reads you'd think she singlehandedly kickstarted internet porn.

Regardless of profession or value of house there are going to be very few people who would be happy at the thought of 'Satan's Slaves' organising a heavy metal festival next to them.

Have you read the comments? The oragniser replied I believe, they said they'd only had two objections, the two who are in the article.
