i never really got twitter until last night. reading about what stephen fry had for lunch never appealed. last night however, it was fascinating to read the #londonriots tag. a really interesting insight into what was happening and i dare say it helped both the emergency services and the news coverage. people were tweeting where crowds were gathering, what peopel were doing and where emergency services were badly needed.

Now I'm not one for Twitter, but this seems to be trending.... Could it be a case of good people doing something to help support the community?
Seems like a darn good idea to me. Bin bags at the ready

john prescott apparently tweeted to the england football team to come and give a hand for the #riotcleanup
i'm sorry but why? the scum who did it should clean it up
I agree, but as they aren't I'm kinda impressed that ordinary people are using social media (whatever that is i'm sorry but why? the scum who did it should clean it up
) to overcome the mindless hooligans on the streets. If everyone gets involved they'll have a much harder time of it in future.MadMullah said:

Social responsibility. A lot of people still have it.i'm sorry but why? the scum who did it should clean it up
I only wish #riotcleanup could start with the incineration of the rioters.

I think the clean up should be done by those who have ben arrested. To quote the film Battle of britain:
"The hell you are. They made this mess, get them to clear it up"
"...but what about the officers, sir?"
"give'em a bloody shovel"

"where are you taking those vultures ?"
Robert Shaw's character is one of my favourites fo all time, you'd follow him anywhere, and if you weren't keen a swift bark would send you scurrying on your way
