There has been much talk of ways in which the rioters might best be dealt with, they vary from hoping for rain through curfews to snipers.

It seems to me that none of these solutions are very feasible, and I wonder if there are any practical solutions that anyone here can suggest? The most obvious one would seem to be greatly increased policing, but AIUI we are having difficulty in paying for the current policing levels, so where the money for extra would come from I don't know.

Paintguns and paint grenades. Filled with that stuff you can't wash off and lasts a month.

Most of these rioters are cowards and are doing it under the assuption of annonymity- if they become identifiable and accountable they'll clear off real quick

1 solution; dogs.

they take no cheeck or backchat and, miraculously, provide a wonderful loophole to all the PC, H&S happy-clappy legislation that renders other workable means illegal.

That thread asks for what the general public could do, I'm thinking primarily of the authorities here.

water cannons and lots of blue dye, why is theresa may holding off on on using water cannons, they provide a simple, basic and very effective method of crowd control, apparently she wants to work with the communities, b*llsh*t soak the scum bags and see how long they want to continue to come out to play !!!

Wouldn't the rioters simply wear more protective clothing? and in any case someone would have to get close enough to be sure of hitting the correct targets.

We could fill 100 pages in this thread with different workable solutuions to violent anti-social behaviour but at the moment the top brass are proving un-interested in any of them and happy to sit back and watch for now.

So save your bandwidth for the chavs to organise their next target.

I expect a good many of the rioters have parents who do work.

But is withdrawing social security a good way of promoting a non-rioting/looting environment? I would have thought it would have the opposite effect.

To contain the violence then water cannon would seem an appropriate, tested response ( tested in that it was commonly used in france /germany in the 70s to disperse civil unrest ) Baton rounds & CS gas were also 'favourites ' to dispel unwanted crowds .
A serious threat requires serious consequences - the lack of any credible response from the police ( whatever the reason ) has led to an escalation .

Once harsher tactics are used ( and subsequent litigation for Human rights abuse disregarded with the contempt deserved )prevention can be considered , but riots in cities have been a constant occurrance throughout history .

I smell a liberal.

It would smoke them out, and coupled with a shoot to kill policy for looters would have the desired effect long term.

Yes if you temporarily quell the violence with more violence, you still have unemployment, boredom and distrust of authority?

Violent anti social behaviour should be
1) punished with the birch or hanging (for looting, arson and throwing petrol bombs) if they survive the anti-looting shoot to kill policy
2) removal of all government monies to such individuals, as well as ALL their property
3) when convicted, immediate application of birch at court then sent off for hard labour, minimum 5 years, and HARD labour
4) immediate forcible repatriation of all illegals or non-brits
5) ensure that the police have the right of firing live rounds at people caught looting or petrol bombing after "reading the riot act".
6) removal of all rights to application of EU human rights law...

Am I kidding? NO!! and anyone attempting to force their way into/onto my property will be at the receiving end of .357 magnum teflon coated hollow point!

And I smell a pratt.

I was hoping the thread would deal with practical solutions to the problem, there are plenty of threads for people who want to uselessly rant about it.

I wish we'd stop having appeals for parents to "check on their children", like any parent who didn't know where their kids were last night cares about being a good parent. Most of these won't be hardworking decent people.

Firstly, perhaps compulsory good parenting classes for all the benefit scum, but I think the liberal elite need to accept their great social experiment has failed- here we see the product of generations of living for free off the state, of being tagged "disadvantaged" not told to find work and contribute, of being "entitled" to everything. The Devil makes work for idle hands, so perhaps a return to a form of workhouses is the way forward.

I'm pro everyone receiving food, shelter etc and being helped to pay the bills in times of unemployment etc, but the current system has mutated into something cancer ridden and parasitic.

Oh, and I wonder if most of these kids had received a good few smacks when they were bad when growing up this would be happening; again, what's ideal in a liberal elite comfy middle class household doesn't work for all.

Sorry, this must the thread for waffling aimlessly and then deciding it's our fault for failing the poor dears. I'll get me coat.

Shooting seems pretty practical to me, but maybe your dictionary defines the word differently.
